The new year is a chance to reset after all of that indulgent holiday food, so this weekend all the Food Network chefs are sharing new recipes and tips for clean, nutritious eating. First up on Saturday, Ree Drummond is fixing up meatless meals like Greek Grilled Eggplant Steaks and Tofu Lettuce Wraps. Next, Trisha Yearwood is lightening things up with a breakfast smoothie, whipped sweet potatoes and guilt-free chicken salad. Then, a new episode of The Kitchen is all about nutritious meals like veggie noodles, Jeff Mauro’s beet burger and 100-calorie snacks. Finally, Valerie Bertinelli is preparing a veggie and egg white fajita, grilled chicken veggie soup and a mini pear-compote crumble for dessert.
On Sunday morning, Guy Fieri lowers his calorie count with banana-leaf-wrapped sea bass, grilled corn salsa and a quinoa and mango salad. On a new Giada Entertains, Giada De Laurentiis is hosting game night with healthy dishes like warm chicken Parmesan salad, vegetable bundles and lemon thyme Prosecco. After that, Damaris Phillips is fixing up sesame tuna salad with miso-seared sweet potatoes. Then, Bobby Flay is making a brunch that is both delicious and guilt-free, including a blueberry-pomegranate power bowl and creamy avocado toast. On Sunday night, Guy is revisiting some all-star chefs on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives before the premiere of Grocery Games’ Triple D tournament. After that, it’s the premiere of an all-new season of Worst Cooks with mentors Tyler Florence and Anne Burrell, followed by a new episode of Cutthroat Kitchen.
Ree has stocked her kitchen with all the ingredients to make some of her favorite meatless meals, and she's whipping up Broccoli Cheese Baked Potatoes, Greek Grilled Eggplant Steaks and Roasted Vegetable Panzanella. More meat-free goodness comes with Italian Cornbread and Tofu Lettuce Wraps.
Trisha is being honored at the ASCAP awards show and needs a day of eating light to get ready! She starts the day with a Peanut Butter and Banana Breakfast Smoothie, then heads to her wardrobe fitting with a snack of Whipped Sweet Potato. For a light lunch, she prepares her trainer Billie's Houdini Chicken Salad with Homemade Herbed Crackers.
Start the new year healthy with Katie Lee's Turkey Bolognese with Veggie Noodles and Jeff Mauro's Beet Burger with Citrus Caper Aioli. Then, find out about some lesser-known healthy ingredients, how much you can eat for a healthy 100-calorie snack, and how to prepare some intimidating healthy foods. Plus, vegan chef Chloe Coscarelli makes Chocolate Cupcakes with a secret ingredient, Geoffrey Zakarian whips up a Carrot Ginger Sparkler, and the hosts taste-test the latest water trends.
Valerie Bertinelli resolves to kick off the new year right with foods that are filling but not fattening, so she starts her day with a flavorful Vegetable and Egg White Breakfast Fajita. After a hike with a friend, actress Mackenzie Phillips, she and Mackenzie prepare a tasty grilled Chicken Salad with Apples and Grapes in Lettuce Cups. Then, for dinner, it's Grilled Chicken Vegetable Soup and Individual Pear Crumbles with Maple Yogurt.
Guy Fieri has a meal that lightens the calorie count without lightening up the flavor. He's got a Banana Leaf-Wrapped Sea Bass served with a spicy Grilled Corn Salsa, and on the side, Red Quinoa and Mango Salad, proving once and for all that healthy can mean flavorful!
Giada loves to spend Friday nights with friends, so she's hosting a game night at her house, complete with healthy dishes, a skinny cocktail and lots of friendly competition. The menu includes Warm Chicken Parmesan Salad, Vegetable Bundles with Tarragon-Citrus Dip, Drunken Berries and Lemon-Thyme Prosecco.
Damaris Phillips and a friend have been on a fun new adventure taking a circus aerial class, and they've worked up a huge appetite. Damaris has just the recipes to satisfy, and whips up Sesame Tuna Salad, Miso-Seared Sweet Potatoes and Sauteed Apples with Gingersnap Crumble.
Chef Bobby Flay's brunch menu is so satisfying and delicious you'd never know it's good for you too! His healthy menu includes a Blueberry-Pomegranate Power Bowl with Toasted Quinoa Croutons, creamy and flavorful Avocado Toast Three Ways, a "boosted up" Bloody Mary made with homemade veggie juice, and a Black Forest Iced Tea that feels like dessert.
This trip, Guy Fieri's in the kitchen with some real Triple D all-stars, cookin' up everything from gangster Greek in Salt Lake City to creative curry in Denver to amazing Asian in Miami and North Pole, Alaska. Plus, he visits an off-the-charts taco joint in Des Moines and a Boise, Idaho, drive-in serving up prime-time prime rib.
Some of the best chefs from Triple D invade Flavortown Market in this leg of the Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives Tournament, where they must prepare a lunch special using only ingredients that begin with the letter "D" or "G."
Chef Tyler Florence returns to the kitchen to challenge reigning champ Chef Anne Burrell to a rematch. An open casting call attracts some of the worst cooks that they've seen yet, and they choose 14 recruits to train back at culinary boot camp. These "home cooks" make their signature dishes, and after an unsavory tasting, Anne and Tyler pick their teams and attempt to teach them how to make a well-balanced dinner.
Three chefs have to make potato salad while wearing one potato sack. Two chefs have to play catch with their ingredients while making chicken cacciatore. One chef has to make doughnuts with ingredients they get from a giant box of doughnuts.
