What to Watch: Cowboy Lunches, Weeknight Dinners and the Finale of Worst Cooks in America
Start the weekend out by making three lunches with Ree Drummond featuring dishes like chicken wings, potato salad and an apple and celery slaw. Then, the co-hosts on The Kitchen share their best recipes for quick and easy weeknight dinners. And Valerie Bertinelli is cooking for her friends’ dinner party. After that, head down to Savannah, Georgia for the premiere of Ms. Polly’s Cakes where Ms. Polly and her kids are baking a replica of a large home and a large peacock cake.
On Sunday evening, Guy Fieri welcomes four pork-loving chefs to Flavortown Market for Triple G’s second Big Bacon Battle and on Worst Cooks, the final two recruits face off in their final challenge, preparing a three-course, restaurant-quality meal for a panel of culinary experts.
It's a tale of three lunches, all ready to go. For lunch No. 1, Ree makes Beef Noodle Salad Bowls with Peanut Sauce. Lunch No. 2 is a Cowboy Bento Box, packed with Chicken Wings in Homemade BBQ Sauce, Creamy Lemon Basil Potato Salad, and Apple and Celery Slaw. Lastly, lunch No. 3 is a Kale-Pasta Mason Jar Salad (pictured), the perfect portable meal.
Become a weeknight warrior and conquer a week of meals with help from The Kitchen. Jeff Mauro shares his one-pan plan with Deep-Dish Reuben Pierogies, while Sunny Anderson shares her Honey-Chipotle Chicken Burritos (pictured) and Katie Lee makes a time-saving Slow-Cooker Lasagna Soup. Then, learn the best way to buy pre-prepped ingredients to save time and money for a Spicy Chicken Stir-Fry and finish the week with some easy dessert ideas and two-ingredient cocktails.
Valerie's dear friends, the Dinsmores, have a party twice a year for their wine club and Valerie has offered to cook for the party. The menu features Steak Towers, Polenta Crackers with Roasted Wild Mushrooms, Grilled Shrimp Skewers with Romesco Sauce (pictured), and White Pepper Cherry Cookies.
Ms. Polly’s Cakes: Inspirational Cakes: 3D House and Majestic Peacock – Saturday, March. 4 at 2|1c
Ms. Polly and her son, Prae, struggle to get the details right on a 3D replica of a large Savannah home, hoping to impress a new client and tap into a potentially profitable market. Meanwhile, she must also come up with a cake to convey "new beginnings" for Pastor James' new church. But can her kids, Girly and Monty, work together to create the hundreds of tail feathers that make up her peacock-inspired design?
It's GGG's second BBB: Big Bacon Battle. Four pork-loving chefs cook up sizzling bacon dishes that will land one of them in hog heaven with up to $20,000! First, they must make the ultimate bacon dish, despite a nine-item shopping limit. Then, chefs prepare an elevated bacon dish using the not-so sweet items on Guy Fieri's mandatory Grocery List. Finally, Guy uses refrigerator magnets to generate the name of their final bacon creation: smoky chocolate BBQ.
The final two recruits face their last challenge: to prepare a three-course, restaurant-quality meal for a panel of culinary experts. Anne Burrell and Rachael Ray will help coach their recruits, but ultimately it is each recruit's final chance to show how much they have improved since Week 1. The culinary experts will pick a winner based on a blind tasting, and the winning recruit will walk away with $25,000.
