Exploring the Magic of Chicken Fat
Hannah Hart is stopping by Valerie’s house this weekend for a chicken feast and the most-unique cookies ever.

Valerie is challenging herself to use every part of the chicken in a delicious and creative menu, just as her mother and Nonnie used to do as part of their belief that nothing should go to waste. Hannah Hart joins Valerie to enjoy the benefits of her chicken challenge. On the menu are Chicken Liver Pate with Red Onion Jam, Un-Fried Chicken, Chicken Broth Braised Turnips with Homemade Chicken Stock, an Arugula and Shaved Mushroom Salad and, for dessert, the most-unique oatmeal raisin cookies you’ve ever had. True to her "waste-not, want-not" theme Valerie uses rendered chicken fat to add another level to these iconic cookies. Hannah is impressed and wonders, “Oh no, am I going to have to start baking cookies with chicken fat?”
