5 Ingredients: Mix-and-Match Turkey Burgers

The trick to delicious turkey burgers is keeping them tender and juicy. Since the meat doesn’t contain much fat (and therefore, not much flavor) you need to combine it with a few simple add-ins to give things a boost. We dreamed up 5 flavorful mix-ins for the turkey burgers, each with 5 ingredients or less!
Start with 1-pound of ground turkey breast (make sure it’s breast meat and not the higher-fat "ground turkey") along with some salt and pepper. Try any of the 5 options below and serve on a whole-grain English muffin.
Option 1 (pictured above): Sun-dried tomato and black olives (1/4 cup of each, finely chopped)
Toppings: Goat cheese (1/2 oz per serving) and fresh arugula

Toppings: Baby Spinach & mayonnaise (1 teaspoon per serving)

(*1/2 cup chopped red onions sautéed with 2 teaspoons of olive oil and 2 tablespoons of balsamic vinegar – cool before adding to meat)
Toppings: Provolone cheese (1 slice per serving) and sliced tomato

Option 4: BBQ sauce and chopped bell pepper (1/2 cup each)
Toppings: Cheddar cheese (1 slice per serving) and mixed greens

Option 5: Black bean & chopped cilantro (½ cup each)
Preheat grill or grill pan to medium-high. Combine turkey meat and desired ingredients; season with salt and pepper and mix gently to combine. Form into 4 equal sized burgers and grill for 5 to 6 minutes per side. Serve on toasted whole-grain English muffins with desired toppings.
