5 Ingredients: Wheat Berry Burgers
Are you loving wheat berries but tired of only using them only in salads? Try this super-delish wheat berry burger instead, which calls for only five ingredients.
Serve these tasty veggie burgers on whole grain rolls with your favorite fixings or tucked into lettuce cups topped with tzatziki.
Heat 1 teaspoon of oil in a small skillet. Add onion, season with a pinch of salt and sauté until translucent, about 4 minutes; set aside to cool. Combine cooked onion, wheat berries, peppadew peppers, hummus, and egg in a food processor fitted with a steel blade. Season with ¼ teaspoon each kosher salt and black pepper. Pulse until mixture is well combined, stopping to scrape down the sides of the bowl a couple of times. Form mixture into 6 equal-sized patties (about ½ cup each). Heat 2 teaspoons of oil in a large skillet, place 2 burgers in the skillet and cook for 5 minutes per side; transfer to a plate. Repeat for remaining burgers.
