Jennifer Garner has a lot going on, between her busy career and raising her large family (and a pet chicken!). But that doesn’t stop her from having fun on Instagram with her pretend cooking show.

This always-hilarious series that appears on her Instagram has tackled everything from baking bread to more complicated dishes but this time, she focused on salad!

"I add lots of goodies to my salad, but first: veggies," Garner shared in her Instagram video. "They add lots of crunch. You don't need croutons if you have something crunchy in there." Also on her list of salad musts: broccoli, nuts, and an avocado — "or two, whatever you need!"

Garner adds her broccoli, nuts and along with a few other toppings, and while at it hysterically tries to avoid cutting herself with that gigantic knife. She even has a hilarious “Don’t Slice Your Hands” song that is absolutely steal-worthy.

The always kind and helpful Garner even shared a shopping list in her Instagram caption, and we’re taking notes. Her salad includes the expected mixed greens and veggies, but she also recommends adding fats (avocado is great, but so is cheese or nuts), grains or protein, and of course, the dressing.

"I use straight olive oil and red wine/balsamic vinegar," she shared, giving one final tip: "The key for me is to pick a variety of the above and chop it up so that you aren’t battling a dinner plate-sized honk of lettuce every other bite."

We'll take that advice when we make a Garner-style salad for dinner tonight.
