3 medium russet potatoes

2 onions

1 shallot

4 lemons

1 wedge (8 ounces) Parmigiano-Reggiano

1 1/2 cups breadcrumbs

Small jar capers

One 28- to 32- ounce can stewed tomatoes or Italian San Marzano tomatoes
