8 tablespoons (1 stick) unsalted butter

6 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice

1 teaspoon salt

Freshly ground black pepper

2 pounds large shrimp, peeled and deveined


  1. Combine the butter, lemon juice, salt, and pepper in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook the mixture, stirring constantly, until the butter melts, about 1 minute.
  2. Stir in the shrimp. Cover the pan and reduce the heat to medium-low. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the shrimp are just opaque, about 5 minutes.
