Butter, for greasing muffing tins

2 cups self-rising flour

1 cup milk

2 tablespoons sugar

4 heaping tablespoons mayonnaise


  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Lightly grease a 12-cup muffin tin with butter.
  3. In a large bowl, combine flour and milk, blending with a rubber spatula. Add the sugar and mayonnaise, and stir until just combined. Spoon batter into prepared muffin tin. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until golden brown.
