1/2 cup organic crunchy or smooth peanut butter

1/3 cup whole wheat flour

1/4 cup ground flax seed

2 tablespoons extra-virgin or virgin coconut oil

1 ripe banana, mashed, about 1/3 cup

Special equipment:
3-inch dog bone shaped cutter
  1. Position an oven rack in the middle of the oven and preheat to 350 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment.
  2. Stir together the peanut butter, flour, flax seed and coconut oil in a medium bowl with a rubber spatula until well combined. It will be slightly wet and shiny.
  3. Roll out the mixture until 1/4-inch thick. Use a 3-inch dog bone shaped cookie cutter to cut out the biscuits. Transfer to the prepared baking sheet. Gather the scraps, re-roll and cut out a few more biscuits.
  4. Chill until the biscuits are just firm, about 15 minutes.
  5. Bake until the edges are golden brown, 20 to 25 minutes. Let cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes and then transfer to a rack to cool completely.
  6. Give your pup a treat and watch them enjoy. Store in an air tight container up to 5 days.

Cook’s Note

If you have a smaller or larger cookie cutter or shape, the yield will be different but still delicious for the pup!
