Ingredients

1 (22-pound) top round beef roast

Granulated chicken base

2 ounces sliced onions

2 ounces sliced green peppers

4 slices American cheese

1(8-inch) hero bun

Directions

  1. Rub the meat with chicken base and put it into a large container. Allow the beef to marinate, overnight, in the refrigerator.
  2. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  3. Put the beef into a large roasting pan and roast it until rare, about 2 1/2 hours. Remove the roast to a cutting board and let cool before thinly slicing.
  4. Saute the onions and peppers together in a grill pan over medium-low heat until softened. Add 6 ounces of thinly sliced beef over the peppers and onions. Top with 4 slices of cheese and allow it to melt.
  5. Put the grilled meat, cheese, onions and peppers on the hero bun and serve.
