Red Wine "Poached" Pear Punch

1 bottle dry red wine, such as Chianti or Cabernet

2 cups pear juice

8 ounces vanilla vodka

2 pears, peeled, cored and sliced into wedges lengthwise

2 cinnamon sticks

Two 12-ounce cans Canada Dry Ginger Ale


  1. Combine the wine, pear juice, vodka, pears and cinnamon sticks in a large bowl or pitcher. Refrigerate overnight. Just before serving, add the Canada Dry Ginger Ale and stir gently.
