1 1/3 cups long grain rice

1 to 2 tablespoons butter



  1. Bring a large pot of water to a boil. When it comes to a boil, add salt and then rice. Stir and then boil for 15 minutes or until just cooked. Drain, toss with butter, season with salt and pepper, to taste, and serve.
  2. Cook's note: 1 cup raw equals 3 cups cooked.
