I have made pork and butterbeans for years, however it has been a while so I looked up a recipe.  I made this but used 2 slices of bacon instead of ham.  I usually cooked pork chops, no breading and covered with beans, salt, and pepper and served over mashed taters.  This recipe was fantastic, cooking them separately and adding the onion and bacon turned out better than I have ever made.  This is my new and improved recipe.
