Ingredients

1 1/4 pounds ground beef

1/2 onion

3/4 teaspoon garlic salt

1 1/2 teaspoon pepper

1 1/2 ounce tomato paste

8 cups water

3 1/2 teaspoon paprika

6 teaspoon chili powder

Directions

  1. Simmer onions and garlic sauce for one hour. Add other ingredients. Cool then add breadcrumbs until texture desired.

Cook’s Note

This Texas sauce is especially good on hot dogs (topped with hot peppers, hot relish, and a creamy cheddar sauce) but it can also be served with burgers or on its own as a sloppy joe variation.

To the heart broken guy from Buffalo, who was bummed out over Food Network's alledged Texas Hot sauce, the recipe given on wegottaeat looks like a reduced quantity version my Dad had. My Dad's was for mega version. Over the years we tried making smaller batches that never quite hit the mega version. I've made the mega versions when a crowd is coming. Always a crowd pleaser.:-)<div>The Food Network's recipe, whatever it is could only be a 3, as AJ'S is a 12 on a scale of 12.</div>
