Cranberry-Orange Sauce

Ingredients

2 (8-ounce) packages cranberries, fresh or frozen

1 orange, zest cut into strips

1/2 cup sugar

1 cinnamon stick

Directions

  1. Put all the ingredients into a saucepan over medium heat and simmer until the cranberries burst and the sauce thickens, about 15 to 20 minutes. Cool and refrigerate. Remove the cinnamon stick before serving.

This recipe is excellent! For those of you who are wondering about the orange, I recommend that you leave out the white part (pith) and most of the flesh. Instead, cut the orange peel into strips, then chop into small bits (while eating this will be a more pleasant than finding large strips in your food). I also juiced the remaining orange with a little pulp for additional sweetness and flavor.
