Gator Grill is housed in a nondescript bungalow down past the end of the turnpike in Homestead. It’s off the beaten tourist path, but the reptilian-inspired cafe is a worthy detour on a drive to Everglades National Park or the Keys. What it lacks in accessibility, it makes up for with unique Sunshine State specialties including grilled gator tail, cut into bite-sized pieces and marinated in special mix of Cajun-style ingredients. The little morsels are flavorful and succulent, even better with the housemade cilantro cream and chipotle sauces that accompany the dish.
