Each Cook's Choice

This season things got turned upside-down: The cooks got to choose their mentors. After preparing dishes for the mentors to sample, the home cooks were ranked from No. 1 to 9. Unfortunately the ninth-placing cook went home, but the remaining eight made it onto teams.

Team Andrew: Anna and Zoe

Anna ranked first place and chose Andrew for her mentor, which made the other mentors quite jealous. Zoe came in fifth place and picked Andrew because of his wide knowledge of international foods.

Team Robert: Natasha and Jermaine

Alex felt a real kinship with Natasha, but the second-placing cook ended up choosing Robert for her mentor. Jermaine, who placed fourth, chose Robert specifically for his tough-love approach.

Team Alex: Lisa and Lee

Sixth-placing Lisa chose Alex, and the mentor was more than happy to have such a strong cook. Even after Alex forcibly tried to find out his choice earlier in the challenge, Lee — the seventh-placing home cook — picked Alex.

Team Curtis: Dain and Lynn

Coming in third place, Dain excitedly picked Curtis, who revealed Dain was his first choice. With Curtis the only mentor still left with an open spot, eighth-placing Lynn automatically joined his team.
