In the premiere episode, the mentors put 16 regional home cook candidates to the test. Each mentor chose only two members for his or her team. The competition has been reduced to eight contestants in all.
Team North
Michael chose Marc, a sales manager, and Stephanie, a social worker, for his team.
Team East
Alex chose Hannah, a yoga instructor, and Christina, a substitute teacher, for her team.
Team West
Tyler chose Sheri, a homemaker, and Phillip, a modeling agent, for his team.
Team South
Cat chose Ben, a financial adviser, and Nikki, who works in marketing, for her team.
