Top Moments: 1. Chocolate Meltdown

Alicia worked in a chocolate factory, so she thought she'd kill the Hershey's-for-dinner challenge. Instead, she rambled through her camera presentation and served a dish that Giada called "a total miss."

2. Don't Sweat It

After being called out last week for sweating into his food, Jeff breaks out a headband: "My headband re-collects the mojo."

3. Jyll Shines

Who knew that Almond Joy pieces and shrimp would be a winning combination? The judges loved Jyll's inspired take on coconut shrimp. Her reward: Getting to pick her team for the next challenge.

4. Team Duff vs. Team Robert

Justin B. has a pretty good read on the next challenge: "Seeing Duff, I know there's going to be some sort of pastry battle royale. And seeing Robert Irvine, I know it's going to be intense."

5. Better Shape Up

Robert lays down the law when he visits his team and finds chaos in the kitchen: "It looks like World War III in here. This is totally unacceptable. You work like this in your restaurants?"

6. Cook for a Six-Year-Old

Duff's direction to his all-girls team: "I want sophistication, but something a six-year-old would like." Alicia is nervous: "I went to pastry school. If I get eliminated today, I will never live it down."

7. Duff's Angels

The ladies of Team Duff strike a pose.

8. Penny and the Boys

"Being left off the girls' team was the best thing that could've happened to me," says Penny after Jyll left her with the guys on Team Robert.

9. Boys vs. Girls

The judges end up liking the boys' sweets buffet best — but Chris infuriates the panel by ignoring everyone but Bobby as he explains his sub-par tart.

10. Embarrassed

Alicia's cupcakes and cake pops were among the worst desserts of the day. "Today when she should have shone, she stumbled so badly," says Bob.

Bonus Highlights: The Play-by-Play

We've covered the Top 10, but there was a lot more going on in this sugar-fueled episode. Giada stands beside a vending machine full of Hershey's products which will be randomly released to the finalists.

Mise en Place

Justin B. needs to make a savory dish with caramel Hershey's Kisses — but first, he's got to unwrap them all.

Holy Mole!

Susie gets Hershey's Kisses with almonds and immediately thinks of mole, the traditional Mexican stew made with chocolate and nuts.

Time to Step It Up

"If I can get my personality up to the quality of my cooking, this competition is over," says Justin B. Unfortunately, this week he's still "boring and flat," according to Giada.

Food Flop

Vic learns that chocolate-dipped asparagus is never a good idea.

Still a Contender

Penny's attempts to knock out Orchid last week proved futile — she's still around and impressing the judges. "Your smile could light up the entire L.A. Valley," says Bob.

Advantage: Jyll

As the winner of the Camera Challenge, Jyll gets to pick her entire team for the next one ...

Duff vs. Robert

... and she'll also get to choose who her team will bake a buffet of desserts for: Duff Goldman or Robert Irvine. Jyll immediately picks Duff and selects all the girls but Penny for her team.

The Underdog

The chefs start preparing their desserts in the kitchen of L.A.'s Biltmore Hotel. Chris decides he's the leader of Team Robert, but many of his teammates aren't taking him seriously.

Ambitious

Whitney decides to pull out all the stops and make croquembouche, a classic French dessert made of cream puffs. "You're either going to crash and burn or totally kill it and impress everyone," says Duff.

Lack of a Leader

The girls team is having a blast in the kitchen, but Jyll fails to step up as a leader, claiming that their team doesn't need one: "We have each other's backs. We have the most fantastic camaraderie."

New Leader

After Robert whips the kitchen into shape, he replaces Chris with super-serious Justin B. as team leader. Things suddenly get much more organized.

Frazzled

"I am sort of a stress ball," admits Alicia as she struggles to remember her cake recipe. Her teammates may feel that this is a bit of an understatement.

A Cook Doing Pastry

"If the pastry girls lose to the cooks in the pastry challenge, see ya," says Justin D. Fortunately, Robert loves his inventive flavor combination for ice cream.

Fun Network

Team Duff has great camaraderie in the kitchen, but it doesn't make up for some major food flops. "It's not the fun network, it's the Food Network," says Bobby.

Eye on the Oven

Vic watches his cream puffs carefully and it pays off. "All the ingredients you put together in one little cream puff was a very risky move," says Bobby. "It's the best dish I had all day."

Mixed Reviews

The girls say that their cake pops were loved by the guests, but the judges have a different take: "It's like eating flour and water!" says Robert. "So far you're hitting all aces, Duff."

Duff Goes Down

Everyone is in agreement that Team Robert had the better desserts. "Duff, you will not be the next Food Network Star," jokes Bobby.

A Win for the Boys (and Penny)

Team Robert started out looking like the underdog, but ultimately they prevail. "If the girls lose, it will be so sweet, especially for me!" says Penny.

Back on the Bottom

Alicia's sad cupcakes and under-baked cake pops land her in the bottom once again. "I'm just going to go in there with a good attitude, a big smile and hope that it goes my way," she says.

Making Her Case

Jyll stands up for herself when the judges ask why she didn't step up as the team leader. Fortunately, they loved her dessert, so she's safe.

Judges' Take

"This was yours to lose, I thought. You have a baking background," Susie tells Alicia.

Pastry Fail

Despite her pastry background, dessert ultimately sends Alicia home. She tries her best to keep it together: "As horrifying as it is that I'm going home for cupcakes, I'm telling myself that it's okay."
