Top 10 Moments: 1. DDD Comes to FNS

Guy arrives in style to announce the Camera Challenge at Mel's Diner. The finalists will step into his shoes and film triple-D-style segments at this iconic L.A. diner.

2. Guy Groupies

The finalists smile and cheer when the Food Network superstar — and season 2 Star winner — rolls up.

3. Who Is This Guy?

"Own it!" Guy tells Justin D. "You're scared to let the tiger come out." Justin D. tries to bring on the big personality, but his presentation seems totally out of character.

4. Pep Talk

"Susie's making up words and I'm walking like Frankenstein!" says Vic. Guy helps this duo smooth out their performances.

5. Fourth of July Flavors

For the Star Challenge, Guy tells the finalists they'll be cooking all-American classics for 150 hungry fans. At the festival site, they're in for a surprise — they'll also be presenting live.

6. Cracking Up the Judges

Mary Beth has the judges in stitches during her presentation and, surprisingly, so does Whitney with her comment about knocking Bobby's pants off. "She showed some sassiness, which was nice!" says Bobby.

7. Cowgirl Charm

Whitney is the most relaxed the judges have ever seen her: "This was a breakthrough week for you," says Bob. "I had a beer, and I think it helped!" Whitney laughs.

8. Identity Crisis

On stage, Justin D. is over the top. Back at the table as he serves the judges, he's quiet and lacking personality. "What is going on with him and why is he two different people?" asks Susie Fogelson.

9. Tension

Penny starts throwing accusations during evaluation, and the other women in the house take offense. "You are the most entitled person I've ever met in my life!" says Jyll.

10. Farewell to Another Justin

In back-to-back weeks, both Justins head home. "Being called an inauthentic person, that's hard to hear," Justin D. reflects. "But I understand. I'm not disappointed in myself, I'm disappointed in the outcome."

The Play-by-Play

We've covered the Top 10, but there were many more memorable moments in this all-American episode. First, the finalists are eager to get their segment assignments from Guy at Mel's Diner.

Nerves

Once it's time to shoot, some finalists are more comfortable than others. "Mary Beth does this for a living," says Orchid. "All of this is so new to me. I'm talking way too much. I'm a talker."

Relax

Jyll's performance seems forced, and Guy tries to get her to loosen up by thinking of hanging out with her dog. "By the fourth take, I finally feel like myself," she says.

Strategizing

Penny and Jeff both have to interview Piper, a feisty server at Mel's. "I'm watching Jeff, and he kills it, of course," says Penny. "I'm nervous."

Bull in a China Shop

Back in the kitchen interviewing the chef, Chris is struggling with the camera. "You're like a bull in a china shop!" says Guy. "You're going to make people seasick at home."

Guy Inspiration?

Justin D. attempts to show some Fieri-style energy in his presentation: "He’s the guy who we're all here to emulate. Guy's the guy."

Americana

In honor of the Fourth of July, Guy pulls out classic dishes that the finalists will have to reinvent for the Star Challenge.

Time Crunch

Orchid gets brisket, which she loves, but there's a catch: The finalists only have three hours to cook. "It takes 15 hours!" she says. "I'm just going to hope that they magically become very tender."

Barbecue With Beer

Mary Beth uses MGD64 — the sponsor of the Fourth of July festival — in her grilled chicken marinade.

Ready to Party

Guy kicks back before the finalists arrive at the Fourth of July food festival.

Classic Dishes, Reinvented

Jyll is assigned carne asada and wants Susie's Mexican expertise, but Susie is skeptical: "I felt taken aback by that. No, senorita."

Taco Trouble

Jyll's Wisconsin-inspired tacos do not fare well with the judges. "It's like somebody's 5-year-old made this taco," says Bobby. Jyll is not feeling good about evaluation.

Reigning It In

"They want fun, but no frat boy," says Chris. His attempt to show more maturity is not entirely successful, as he cracks open a beer with his teeth and swigs it during the challenge.

Mixed Results

Penny's presentation is forced and awkward, but she nails a Middle Eastern take on sausage and peppers: "I would not remember her from her presentation, but I will remember her food always," says Bob.

Sandwich King

The judges love Jeff's interpretation of pretzels and beer, in sandwich form: "It's the best sandwich he's made so far," says Bobby.

Lovable Tough Guy

Vic's spin on a lobster roll is delicious, and his presentation impresses Susie Fogelson: "You took a risk, you looked ridiculous, but you took it home. You do it in a way that is so Vic."

Fired Up

Back at evaluation, normally sunny and smiley Jyll gets heated when she hears Penny's comments about how she's treated in the house. "On behalf of all of us, I think I can say, wow." says Jyll.

What?!

Susie, Whitney and Mary Beth are also shocked by what Penny has to say. "If you're in a corner, it's because you put yourself there, Penny!" says Susie.

Fights Forgotten

The judges get back to business and announce Susie as the winner of the challenge. They loved her funny, personal presentation and Guy called her slaw "rock star" quality.

Who's Next to Go?

The judges debate the merits and pitfalls of this week's bottom three, Orchid, Justin D. and Jyll. In the end, it's Justin D. who says farewell: "He just doesn't know who he is," Bobby laments.
