Where to Find the Best Ginormous Food in Tucson, Arizona
Josh Denny visited local hot spots across Tucson to experience some of the city's most-massive eats. Find out which restaurants he went to and what he tasted.
There's no shortage of sweet and savory items on the menu at Stray Dogs, but when it comes to dessert, you can't miss a doughnut called The B.F.D., aka "the big freaking doughnut," according to the chef. Tipping the scales at a whopping 9 pounds, this deep-fried beauty features a hearty smear of gooey chocolate inside and a full-coverage frosting all around.

Going far beyond the usual cheeseburger, The Burn Out is a 14-inch-tall six-patty skyscraper that packs plenty of spice, thanks to a ghost pepper-based sauce that's balanced by a combination of creamy mayo and sour cream. For even more pepper action, there's also multiple layers of green chiles, jalapeno and pepper Jack cheese, which complement the slices pepper Jack draped over the beef patties.
Part hot dog and part taco, The Titanic Taco Dog is a 5-pound twist on a classic Sonoran dog, which is traditionally made with bacon and beans. The concoction at Boca Tacos features no fewer than 10 bacon-wrapped hot dogs, plus earthy beans, fresh pico de gallo and plenty of aioli, all piled atop a stack of tortillas. "It looks titanic," Josh declares after watching the platter come to life.
