The Excitement Builds

After arriving on the red carpet and meeting one another, the celebrities are excited to see Rachael and Guy. They eagerly look on as the two mentors make their entrance.

It's Time for the Competition

With no delay, Rachael and Guy get the competition started. After welcoming the celebrities, they pick their teams.

A Two-Part Challenge

Team Guy (left) and Team Rachael (right) are given their first challenge, which consists of two parts. Each team must prepare a tasting menu, including four dishes and a dessert, for 100 guests, and perform a short theatrical skit.

Carnie Dishes Out Comfort

For the team's Potluck theme, Carnie chooses to make her signature dish, Fall to Your Knees Mac 'n’ Cheese, which features Gruyere and Worcestershire sauce for kick. She is also in charge of the dessert, Coconut Chocolate Bread Pudding.

Guy's Time-Saving Advice for Dean

Guy gives Dean some pointers on preparing his dish. Originally Dean had wanted to make short ribs, but because there's not enough time to do a slow braise, Guy has him instead work on skirt steak, which grills up quickly. Dean will also be making the Less Is S'more dessert, a deconstructed S'mores.

Gilbert's Cooking Conundrum

Gilbert has the toughest time choosing a dish to make. Ultimately he decides to make peanut butter sandwiches. Rachael tells him to jazz up the recipe by grilling it and sprinkling it with cinnamon-sugar. After a few burnt batches, Gilbert finally starts to get the recipe right.

Johnny Keeps It Lean

For the team's Wild West theme, Johnny decides to make a chicken patty that he's calling Chicken Tumbleweeds with Honey-Truffle Sauce. Against Guy's recommendation, he cuts out all the fat to keep his dish extra lean, which is the way he cooks for his figure-skater diet.

Rachael Checks In on Hines' Progress

As Hines takes a sampling of his chicken wings, Rachael goes over the recipe, which features a sauce made with diced onions, soy sauce, brown sugar and hot sauce.

Dean's Bitten Off More Than He Can Chew

Dean grills the steak for his dish, Blacksmith's Bite, which will include a creamy jalapeno polenta. He's also supposed to be working on dessert, but with so much to do, he's almost out of time. Luckily, Cornelia offers to get it started.

Hines' Special Nod to His Mom

Hines puts the finishing touch on his Asian Persuasion Wings, a recipe from his mom. He tosses the deep-fried wings into the sweet and spicy sauce just before serving so the wings stay crispy.

Chilli Learns to Season to Perfection

At first, Chilli is a little shy when seasoning the fish for her Chilli-apia Tostadas, but once Guy intervenes, she gets the flavors down just right. The tostadas will be topped with avocado cream and mango salsa.

Cowboys and Fairy Tales

The teams have a wide selection of costumes to choose from for their performances. Dean will be playing the role of sheriff in his team's Western skit. Gilbert will play the wicked stepmother and fairy godfather in his team's fairy tale.

Director Guy Fieri

Guy gives some important last-minute direction to his team before they go on to perform their Western skit.

The Wild, Wild West of Flavor

Miss Cornelia and Peg Tumbleweed (Johnny) compete over Sheriff Durango Dean's affection and whose dish is the better at winning a man's heart through his stomach.

The Potluck Princess

Kathy narrates a tale of a poor girl named Prinderella (Carnie) who gets bossed around by her wicked stepmother (Gilbert). But Prinderella's luck is about to change.

Belle and Beau of the Ballroom

With help from her fairy godfather (played by Gilbert), Prinderella heads to the ball and dances the night away with the prince (Hines).

Media Scrutiny

Before dinner is served, Rachael and Guy discuss the performances with the editors of Entertainment Weekly, who are among the 100 guests. Votes alone will determine which team wins and whose dishes are the best.

Good News and Bad News

Rachael and Guy reveal the voting results. Both teams did a great job putting on hilarious skits, but not everyone made the most successful dishes. Only one team can win the challenge based on overall votes.

Winners and Losers

The guest diners voted Team Guy as the winning team and Chilli's dish as their favorite. Unfortunately for Rachael's team, it means the two celebrities who made the least-favorite dishes must compete against one another in a blind-tasting cook-off. Kathy and Gilbert will go head-to-head. They're asked to create the perfect midnight snack.

Not-So-Blind-Tasting Challenge

Rachael and Guy get a kick out of a dish that's obviously Gilbert's creation. In an effort to redeem himself, Gilbert made another peanut butter sandwich. Kathy made her mom's recipe for hummus. Rachael and Guy agree that both dishes would make a great midnight snack, but they must decide who will go home.

A Red Carpet Exit

Gilbert must say goodbye. Unfortunately, his second attempt at a peanut butter sandwich wasn't enough to keep him in the competition. Seven celebrities remain to cook again next week.
