Easy, Elegant Summer BBQ
It’s Bettijo here from Paging Supermom, on behalf of the Chinet® brand, excited to share some ideas for hosting an easy and elegant summer BBQ along with my favorite recipe for grilled zucchini. Something magical happens when you decorate with two contrasting design styles. As they play off each other, it creates interest and tension that makes for design magic. For this summer BBQ dinner party, I paired rustic with modern — one of my favorite style combinations.

How to Set an Elegant Table for a BBQ
I began with a weathered picnic table, then added my favorite black-and-white striped table runner. Channeling a modern style, I added simple black-and-white decor, creating an elegant table where the food can be the star of the show.
Disposable plates are a must, because no one wants to get stuck inside doing the dishes when they could be enjoying the outdoors with family and friends. Chinet® Classic White™ plates are sturdy enough to stand up to whatever is on your menu, and the plates’ simple design blends in nicely with the décor, creating the perfect blank canvas for your meal.
Simple black polka dots, added along the rim of Chinet® Classic White™ dinner plates, are a cute way to add black-and-white styling to the place setting. This project is incredibly easy since all you’ll need is a black permanent marker. Just color a dot about every inch all the way around the plate. Continue the dot motif with personalized place cards using my free printable black mod dot place cards template.
Complete the place settings by adding Chinet® Classic White™ napkins and Chinet® Cut Crystal® cutlery. The real beauty of this place setting is there will be no mess to clean up afterward — simply toss everything following the party. Plus you can feel good going the easy way, knowing that Chinet Classic White products are made from 100% recycled materials that can be composted after use.
How to Make Grilled Zucchini
Summertime brings a bounty of all kinds of gorgeous fresh fruits and veggies. The real challenge will be in picking which ones to serve. Before deciding on the menu, I like to check out my local grocery store or farmers’ market to see what’s on sale.
One veggie you are sure to find in abundance is green zucchini. Grilled zucchini is one of my favorite dishes to serve at any BBQ — it tastes delicious with just a few simple ingredients. For extra color, you can also use this recipe with yellow summer squash. Click here for my full recipe.
