Hailing from Turkey, ayran is a refreshing, non-sweetened yogurt drink popular throughout the Middle Eastern world. It's typically a mixture of plain yogurt, water and salt. Some versions are flavored with garlic or mint. Ayran is called abdug in Iran and than in Armenia.
