cold pack cheese

A blend of shredded natural cheese (typically cheddar) mixed with other ingredients (such as herbs, spices or wine flavoring), packed into molds and pressed. Cold pack cheese (also called club cheese) differs from processed cheese because it is produced without heat. The resulting cheese is firm yet creamy and spreadable at room temperature. See also imitation cheese; substitute cheese.
