Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 ounces vodka
  • Lime wedge
  • Ginger Ice Cubes (see Cook's Note)
  • 3 ounces ginger beer
Directions
  • Special equipment: a copper mug

  • Put the vodka in a copper mug. Squeeze the lime over the vodka. Add some Ginger Ice Cubes and top with the ginger beer.

To make Ginger Ice Cubes, slice fresh ginger into 1/8-inch thick coins. Use a zester to make long strips of lime zest and curl them into swirls. Add a piece of ginger and zest to each compartment of an ice cube tray, fill with distilled water and freeze overnight.
