Ingredients
- 3 pounds sweet potatoes or yams
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 sticks sweet butter, cubed
Directions
Peel potatoes and cut into 2-inch cubes. Place potatoes in large pot, cover with sugar, brown sugar and butter cook over medium heat until potatoes are fork tender (about 20 minutes) but not mushy.

I've made this recipe for the last 2 years and everyone raves about it. So this year, I am making double so we can get some leftovers out of it. Don't cut the yams/sweet potatoes smaller than suggested or they break down even smaller when cooking as well as when you stir them.
For my personal taste, I do not put as much sugar and butter as indicated and I add a pinch or two pumpkin pie spice since it has cinnamon and nutmeg already in it. Enjoy!
