  • The inspiration for the first test comes straight from the Thanksgiving banquet, as does one of the mandatory ingredients. In the candy test, the chefs put on their game faces to tackle the next challenge using barbecue sauce and snack mix as mandatory ingredients. And with $10,000 and the title of Sweet Genius on the line, the two remaining chefs confront a fear-inducing inspiration and two unusual cake ingredients.

  • Relax! A very Zen object of inspiration takes the spotlight in the first test. But can it calm the nerves of the four aspiring geniuses, who must make fabulous frozen desserts using jelly beans and hot sauce? Then when the second test gets underway, the competition gets stinky. The chefs try not to let a foul-smelling fruit distract them from their singular goal of creating desserts inspired by a fabled one-horned creature. Then for the final test, '70s fever takes over! With a disco ball as inspiration and carbonated candies as a mandatory ingredient, the final two chefs must rock out delicious desserts if they want to secure the Sweet Genius title and the $10,000 prize.

  • Where there's smoke, there's inspiration! The chefs must find a way to make a chewy fruit and meaty hors d'oeuvres work in their chocolate desserts. In the candy test, as they seek to combine a Middle Eastern dip with a desert delight, the chefs must be inspired by a Native American talisman. The final two chefs get biblical and try to stay afloat by making the best cake pairing their two mandatory ingredients.

  • In the chocolate desserts test, the chefs must create dishes from marshmallows and water chestnuts that leave Chef Ron Ben-Israel speechless. In the candy test, the chefs must use rolled fruit snacks and shortbread cookies to honor their colorful, twisty inspiration. The last two chefs walk on eggshells trying to incorporate savory ingredients for their final cake test.
