You can create up to five timers

Ingredients

  • 3 ounces Dutch-processed cocoa, approximately 1 cup
  • 2 ounces cornstarch, approximately 1/2 cup
  • 6 ounces confectioners' sugar, approximately 1 1/2 cups
  • 1 1/2 ounces instant non-fat dry milk, approximately 1/2 cup
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Directions

In a large bowl or plastic container with a lid, combine the cocoa, cornstarch, sugar, instant non-fat dry milk, and salt. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 month.

    This is a great recipe you just need to watch the video to make
    the pudding happen. BTW people are saying 1 tsp of vanilla extract and it is clearly 2 tsp of vanilla in the video. I also just watched the rerun of this great episode & am making it today again. Thanks Alton, I for
    one have not bought instant pudding mix for quite awhile.

    Easy as pie to make. Nice to have on hand in the cupboard for when you just want a big ole bowl of comfort! I agree that it does need more sugar, so I would add another 1/2 - 3/4 of powdered sugar, or add 1/4 cup granulated sugar during cooking. I will definitely be making this again.

    This was seriously the worst recipe I have EVER used. I had to add in an extra 1/4 cup of granulated sugar just to make it edible. Do not use this...look elsewhere for a better recipe. I usually love Alton's recipes, but this one is WAY below the mark!
