I meant to buy apples for lunch, but accidentally bought tart baking apples instead. So I needed an apple dessert recipe that was easy and didn't require for me to run out to the store for special ingredients. I did some searching and chose this one. I read the reviews and decided to add a teaspoon of vanilla extract as another reviewer suggested and...it came out GREAT! Easy and yummy! Thanks!!

This was so easy and is going in my "go-to recipe" binder. It uses only kitchen staples and can be thrown together at the last minute. The cake was very moist and balanced well with the streusel topping. I did make a few changes that others suggested.
*used butter rather than vegetable shortening
*used brown sugar rather than white in the streusel topping
*added a dash of nutmeg to the topping
*baked at 350F for about 40 minutes instead of 400F
**Might add nuts to the streusel topping next time around
