I was so disappointed as this looked an easy and tasty recipe. Although I cut really small pieces my guests all found this tart TOO sweet for their tastes, I measured the golden syrup carefully so don't think I put too much in, I threw out the remaining 3/4 of the tart. :(

I have been making this recipe for a few years now, and it is always a favorite at parties! Initially, I had trouble with the filling overflowing in the oven as well, however, I believe it was in large part because I was absent-mindedly using the wrong type of measuring cup for the different ingredients. I must admit I am also a wee bit more conservative with my pours now. I have also had issues with the corn syrup settling, but this usually occurred when the filling overflowed. Since I have made those slight changes, everything fits into the pie perfectly! I have trouble finding peeled hazelnuts so I just toast them then roll them in a towel to remove the shells even though it can be time-consuming. I agree with other reviewers that the chocolate does not melt completely, but in my experience it melts just enough so that there is still a bit of bite to the chocolate, which I like!

I had made this "pie" a couple years ago and i loved it. I was also still very much in my sweet tooth phase. I recently made this again and although i did enjoy it, i dont remember it being the same. Will make again with different variations.
