Ingredients

  • 1 pound spaghetti
  • 2/3 cup olive oil
  • 2/3 cup grated Parmesan
  • 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice (about 3 lemons)
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest
  • 1/3 cup chopped fresh basil leaves

Directions

Cook the pasta in a large pot of boiling salted water until tender but still firm to the bite, stirring occasionally, about 8 minutes. Meanwhile, whisk the oil, Parmesan, and lemon juice in a large bowl to blend.

Drain the pasta, reserving 1 cup of the cooking liquid. Toss the pasta with the lemon sauce, and the reserved cooking liquid, adding 1/4 cup at a time as needed to moisten. Season with salt and pepper. Garnish with lemon zest and chopped basil.

    FANTASTIC

Rated: 5 stars out of 5
I made this on a sailing yacht in the Caribbean last week for my whole family (how cool is that?!) :) :) and served it under... chicken fra diavolo... that's how easy it is. EVERYONE loved it more than any of the meals we ate out and several said it was their favorite meal that I've ever made! I never use nearly as much oil as it calls for, especially with the fra diavolo over it... and you don't miss it at all. I can't recommend this enough for its simplicity, and the lemony flavor balances spicy foods very nicely. SO nice and SO different!! Will be making this a LOT!! EASY and sure to impress! I just made this to accompany roasted lobster tails. My husband's comment was, "WOW! That's lemon-y! THAT is LEMON-Y!! That... really IS lemon-y!" Which I have taken to mean, "That's a little too lemony, honey!" He's too nice to say it. Love Giada- will try again!Read more

    SO LIGHT AND REFRESHING

Rated: 5 stars out of 5
This recipe is so easy and fantastic. So light and refreshing. I added cubed chicken breast meat sauteed in olive oil and... minced garlic. I think it would go great with Shrimp as well. This would make a great cold pasta salad in the summertime. Enjoy!Read more

    Yum!

Rated: 4 stars out of 5
This recipe is pretty good. I wouldn't say fantastic, because I felt it had too much olive oil, but that is easy to change. ... I would add about 1/4 teaspoon of red pepper flakes next time I make it. This serves 4 as a main dish. I paired it with a filling salad and good bread. We'll certainly make it again. Thanks!Read more
