Ingredients

  • 2 mangoes, peeled and chopped
  • 1 pint strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1 lime juiced, plus wedges for garnish
  • 8 cups ice
  • Mint leaves, for garnish

Directions

Put the mangoes and strawberries into a blender or food processor. Squeeze in the lime juice and puree.

Crush ice in a food processor or blender until it is very fine, like snow. Pile the crushed ice into dessert dishes; pour the fruit puree over until you can't see any more white. Garnish with lime wedges and mint; serve immediately.

This dessert is quick, easy, and simply adapted to your own taste. I make it or a variation about 5 times a week. almost any... semi-firm - firm fruit works wonders. A splash of fruit juice in it is also wonderful.Read more

Here is a slightly modified version of this slushy that you will LOVE. I buy a bag of mangoes and strawberries every week... just to make it every other couple of days: Blend five strawberries, half a peeled mango, a cup of ice, and a packet of sugar substitute (Splenda of Stevia extract) in a blender. Pour and relish! Add or subtract ice or fruit for a consistentsy that matches your taste. This serves one so just double or triple for more. I like "eating" it with a spoon, but you can slurp it too. This is seriously the best smoothie/slushie/fruit drink I've ever had and it doesn't even have anything unhealthy in it!Read more
