Ingredients

Steamed Artichokes:

  • 3 large globe artichokes
  • Lemon juice
  • Olive oil
  • Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper

Directions

Trim artichokes down to their hearts, working quickly so they don't go too brown (you can rub with lemon juice as you go if you like). Split hearts in half lengthwise and drizzle with a little olive oil and season with some salt and pepper. Place into a microwave-steamer bag and cook for 2 to 3 minutes in your microwave (time may vary depending on your microwave). When done allow to sit in the bag for 1 minute then remove and roughly chop. Set aside to cool.

Dip:

  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • Steamed artichoke hearts
  • 1 cup fresh lump crab meat, picked over
  • 1 bunch fresh flat-leaf parsley, for garnish
  • Grated Parmesan

For the dip:

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.

Combine mayonnaise, sour cream, lemon, salt and pepper in a mixing bowl and stir to combine. Add chopped, cooked artichoke hearts and lump crabmeat. Stir well and season with more salt and pepper, if necessary. Pour into an oven proof dish (a large ramekin works well) and bake dip for 10 to 12 minutes until heated through and top is nice and bubbly. Serve with croutons and garnish with parsley sprigs and Parmesan.

Croutons:

  • 1 French baguette
  • Extra-virgin olive oil
  • Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Cut baguette on a slight bias and lay out on a sheet tray. Drizzle with olive oil and season lightly with salt and pepper. Bake in the oven for 5 to 7 minutes until golden brown and crispy. Serve with Artichoke Crab Dip.

just made this dish it came out fantastic, I did however back off on the mayo by half and added paprika for flavor, but all... in all Tyler nailed this recipe. This dish just became a staple for the sporting events.Read more

    Easy and delicious

Rated: 4 stars out of 5
I've made this dip several times and it's delicious and very easy to make. Like several other reviewers, I also used... artichokes from a jar. I pressed them in a strainer to get rid of the excess liquid. In addition, I used double the crab meat to make it a thicker and heartier appetizer.Read more

    Good Dip...

This dip was a hit at Thanksgiving. The only thing I changed was I used drained marinated artichoke hearts. Everything else... was to the T and it came out perfect. Thanks Tyler!Read more

This Thanksgiving appetizer was a hit!

Rated: 5 stars out of 5
This dip was delicious! I used fresh crab meat and I defrosted a box of frozen artichoke hearts. The kind in the jar would... probably be too wet for this recipe. I used a bit more crab meat than the recipe called for as well. I omitted the lemon juice and for a bit more seasoning, I added a bit of garlic powder-- everything's better with a little bit of garlic, right? Read more

    Very Good Dip

Rated: 5 stars out of 5
This was recipe was fabulous. The only thing that I did differently was I used canned artichoke hearts but I still steamed... them . Other than that I followed the recipe as written. This was the second recipe the I used from Tyler and I have to say it is very delicious. Read more

    not like on tv

Rated: 2 stars out of 5
I agree with previous reviewers that this recipe was not good. I used canned crab meat, drained chopped artichoke hearts and... halved the mayo - sour cream so there were equal amounts. The dip was bland, and watery. After trying a second time, if you wait until the cheese is golden, the dip looks curdled.Read more
