Ingredients

For the Crust:

For the Filling:

  • 2 medium hass avocados
  • 1 8-ounce package cream cheese, at room temperature
  • 1 14-ounce can sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • Pinch of salt
  • Whipped cream or confectioners' sugar, for garnish (optional)

Directions

Make the crust: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Brush an 8-inch springform pan with some of the melted butter. Mix the remaining butter with the graham cracker crumbs, sugar and salt in a bowl. Press the mixture into the bottom and up the sides of the prepared pan. Bake until golden brown, about 15 minutes. Cool completely on a rack.

Make the filling: Halve and pit the avocados, then scoop out the flesh and chop. Transfer to a bowl, add the cream cheese and beat with a mixer on medium speed until smooth. Add the condensed milk, lime and lemon juices, and the salt and beat until fluffy, scraping the bowl as needed. Pour the filling into the crust, press a piece of plastic wrap directly on the surface and chill at least 4 hours.

Remove the springform ring and slice the pie. Garnish with whipped cream or confectioners' sugar, if desired, and serve immediately (the top will start to brown as the pie sits).

Absolutely love it. Everyone loves it. Requested for every occasion and sometimes just because. I add extra avocado; for quick mix n go use grahham cracker premaid crusts and if going to a potluck put whipped cream all the way across top to stop browning.

Crazy Good!!! This hasn't even made it to the table yet as it has to go in the fridge for 4-hours, but just licking the beaters/bowl it is so tasty! I bet it'll get rave reviews tomorrow. I wish I had more in the bowl to taste right now : I did what another reviewer suggested and tasted before putting in the crust and added more lime juice. I also threw in some lemon and lime zest. Now I'm trying to figure out what to "call" this as I know people will think Avocado Pie is too strange and won't want to try it. What ever I call it, it's easy and delicious!

very easy recipe to make and is a huge hit. As was mentioned in other reviews, the avocado taste is hidden in the background by the other flavors. If you want a more pronounced avocado taste, add one or two more avocados. Recipe still comes out great! Whenever we make this, at least two people leave with the recipe. Great mixture to place in individual tart shells for catering as well, with a slice of fresh avocado on top, or a slice of deep fried / avocado tempura.
