Ingredients

3 large ripe avocados

Juice of 1 lime

1/2 cup fresh cilantro leaves, chopped

1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper

1/2 cup minced red onion

1/2 serrano chile, minced

1 cup diced tomato

Directions

  1. Cut the avocados in half and remove the pit. Scoop the flesh into a large bowl and mash. Add lime juice so the avocados do not turn brown. Add the cilantro, cayenne, red onion, chile and tomato. Gently fold the ingredients together until well mixed. Place in the refrigerator for 30 minutes, or until ready to serve. (Omit the cayenne and chile for a less spicy version.)

Love this recipe. My partner likes it because it has some heat - use an entire chile and watch everyone's eyes open wide with excitement and surprise! Really yummy.
