    Best Cake

Rated: 5 stars out of 5
This is the best chocolate cake ever. Easy and quick, we make it for all special occasions. Our grandkids favorite. I make... a simple powdered sugar frosting and it disappears!! Thanks Robin!Read more

Easy to make and not too sweet.

Rated: 3 stars out of 5
I couldn't decide if I should make this cake according to some of the reviews but since I had all the ingredients at home and... it seem fairly easy to make, I decided to try it. The cake took 45 minutes to bake so for those of you who took longer to bake please check your oven temperatures. Second, the cake came out very moist and it had a deep dark cocolate color. I couldn't wait to let it cool so I could taste it. Although this recipe was not what I was hoping for, it is not a bad cake. My mom liked it because she doesn't like cakes that are too sweet but I do. I was looking for decadent chocolate cake recipe. I will keep looking for that recipe that is similar to the box type but for those of you who want a simple chocolate cake recipe that is not too chocolatey or sweet, this might be for you! Read more

    Easy and Delicious!

Rated: 4 stars out of 5
This cake was so easy to make and very moist. It was not too sweet, which was great. I used light brown sugar. Next time I... will add some fresh rasberries into it. It was really a hit here and quite delicious. The only thing I found was that it took more time to cook than 25 minutes. I kept putting the timer on for 15 minute intervals and did that twice so I would say it took around 55 minutes to fully cook. I definitely will make it again! Thanks!Read more

It did not taste like a chocolate cake

Rated: 2 stars out of 5
I should know better by the ingredients this cake was supposed to be light and not a really good chocolate cake. I did not... like at all, however, if you are going for health rather than taste, maybe you'll like it. Another thing that I should point out is that it took twice as much time to bake it completely. Yummy!

I really don't know why this cake didn't work for the other people. It was so easy! I had one of my guy friends help me make... it, who has never made a cake before. It was so simple and it came out perfect. I put icing and nuts on top and everyone ate like 5 slices. I did not have to do anything to the batter to tweek it. Read more

    Absolutely Fantastic Low Fat Version

Rated: 5 stars out of 5
I love chocolate cake and happen to see this recipe on TV. I read the reviews and was a little skeptical but I since I had... all the ingredients, I wanted to try it anyway. It seemed simple enough. Also, I strictly watch my diet and I thought by adding 1/2 cup egg beaters (instead of the eggs) and 3/4 cup plus 2 Tbl. of Splenda brown sugar (instead of regular brown sugar) as well as low fat buttermilk, I could finally include chocolate cake in my meals. WOW!! It is absolutely fantastic. Very chocolate tasting and very moist. I only baked it 25 minutes too! I am a coffee drinker so instead of adding 1 cup of hot water to the dry ingredients, I used 3/4 cup left over coffee and 1/4 cup water. Coffee enhances the chocolate flavor. It smelled so good baking. I could smell the chocolate. I couldn't wait to try it. I ate a little piece while it was still warm and it was very moist, sweet and chocolate tasting. Just like my best chocolate cake....I don't think I even have to frost it! I WILL DEFINITELY MAKE THIS AGAIN, probably more then I should! Thank you Robin Read more
