I made the non-alcoholic version. Since we like a thicker shake, I cut the milk to 1/2 cup. I also omitted the almond extract by mistake but I can't imagine it would make it any better. Simple and delicious!

Excellent, easy "semi-homemade" shake! I would suggest cutting the almond extract in half and using a "creamy" style ice cream, as I used Bryers and it wasn't thick enough for my tastes. The flavor was excellent and I give it 5 stars! Thanks, SandraLee!

This was a simple, no-fuss, delicious shake. Sandra Lee gave directions in her demo on how to make the shake without alcohol (since she was making a separate batch for her young nephew. I wish more recipes gave non-alcoholic alternatives or adaptations.

My family has dairy allergies so I altered the recipe by replacing the milk with Blue Diamond vanilla-flavored almond milk, (although vanilla soy or rice milk work just as well. I also replaced the dairy ice cream with Soy Dream Butter Pecan non-dairy dessert. It turned out very well with these adaptations. We've made it several times since, each time substituting vanilla extract to taste and the increased amount of milk (almond/rice/soy for the vanilla vodka.
