Sandra says, "This delicious frozen treat made with fresh strawberries and oranges will keep your thirst at bay all summer long."

Ingredients

  • 1 orange
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 pint fresh strawberries
  • 4 ounces rum, such as Meyer's, optional
  • Ice

Directions

Using a vegetable peeler or zester, remove the zest of the orange, taking care to leave the pith behind.

In a small saucepan over medium heat whisk together the sugar with 1/4 cup water and the orange zest. Bring to a simmer and remove from heat. Cool to room temperature. Strain to remove orange zest.

Reserve 4 strawberries for garnish and remove the hulls and roughly chop the remainder. Add the strawberries with the juice of the orange to a blender and fill with ice. Add the cooled orange simple syrup and blend until smooth. Add the rum, if desired, and blend. Pour into glasses and garnish with reserved strawberries.

I made this as a happy hour drink at my house over the weekend and it's delicious! I made two batches - one with strawberries and one with raspberries. Both were great!! I'll definitely make this again.

Why would you use this space to write such IDIOTIC comments? I'm guessing that with your dumb opinions and obnoxious attitude, you can't find anyone to listen to anything you have to say in person. I think Sandra is a sweetheart , and could outsmart you in every aspect of the culinary world. next time you think about writing such hurtful things , just stuff a sock in it
