This drink is very good and pretty simple for how good it tastes. Like the poster before me said, it is great as a standalone drink without the vodka, but as far as vodka only adding to the factor of burning ones throat, there are a few ways to alleviate that. First, don't overdo the Vodka (1/2 shot max unless you are using a very large glass, secondly, if you are putting the time and effort into this drink instead of simply pouring a powder mix in a cup, you must be making it for a special occasion or for someone special, so use a higher grade Vanilla vodka (smother hence less burn, and thirdly, don't feel obligated to use vodka if you don't like it. The Espresso liqueur mentioned above is good (they also make an espresso flavored vodka, Tia Maria Liquor (chocolate, Godiva Liquor(Chocolate, Frangelico(Hazelnut, Chambord(Raspberry, or whatever flavor you like! Experiment, enjoy, and make it your own!

Before the addition of the vodka this recipe was awesome, but after wards the title says it all. Not no taste good. I had to pour it down the drain. You would think vanilla vodka would add a nice flavor and sweetness(like it has in any drink i have ever made but all it does it add some burn as you swallow. So if you do make this, skip the alcohol and it will be awesome.
