    Addictive

I really loved these fries! I did not use celery root, b/c I didn't have that on hand. Rather than use the 5 Spice (grocery... store didn't have it), I just threw in some cinnamon and groud cloves. They were excellent, and I'm not even a huge sweet potato fan. The sweet and spicy was wonderful. I feel like you can pretty much play around with this recipe and use whatever spices you have at home. Read more

It was my first time cooking with celery root and I loved it! The celery root and the sweet potato went very well together... with all the seasoning. I would advise baking it about 3 minutes less because some of mine were burnt.Read more

The spice is amazing, especially on the sweet potato! It was my first time cooking with celery root and I really didn't like... it after the first few fries. But def. worth trying once!Read more

these fries are PHENOMENAL! If you love spicy food... you will LOVE these fries! I found frozen sweet potatoes already diced... in to fries at the super market. Just tossed them in the spice mix without the olive oil and baked for 20 minutes. Amazing!! Small tip on the 5-spice... I found it at both Whole Foods and Central Market, in their fresh spice section. Buy it by the ounce... MUCH cheaper. You can buy only what you need rather than an entire bottle that you'll only use once every year. My purchase for this recipe only cost me a nickle. Read more

Make these fries! I thought the flavor combinations were wonderful. This was my first celery root. I liked it, but did... think they are a bit pricey. Don't let that stop you from making this dish, because you can always replace it with another sweet potato or two. My fries were not crispy, but I expect that with sweet potatoes, and it certainly did not affect my enjoyment of a great new side dish.Read more

    Great Veggie combo

Rated: 5 stars out of 5
I always like recipes incorporating different vegetables. I've only used celery root before by boiling it with and mashing it... with my mashed potatoes - great fresh flavor. I loved these; but for me I'd put only 1/2 tsp cayenne in next time - my lips are still burning. I cooked longer and put on my convection near the end to try to make them crispy. I've never had luck making my sweet potato oven fries crispy and the celery root is similar. Still a delicious side dish. I served it with Sunny's cider brined turkey breast from the Nov 15 show. Both were great.Read more
