Ingredients

Sauce:

  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons sweet rice wine
  • 1 tablespoon, plus 2 teaspoons brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons minced ginger

Directions

Combine ingredients in a saucepan on medium heat until the sugar is dissolved.

Glaze:

  • 1/2 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon water

To make glaze: Mix 1/2 tablespoon cornstarch with 1 tablespoon water. Heat sauce on medium high heat and add cornstarch water mixture. Simmer until thickened.

    When I want to make a scrumptious dinner for the family, i go here, because this is the best teriyaki sauce (aside from restaurant-made I have ever tasted! Compliments to the maker!

    Over the years I have been trying different teriyaki sauce recipe and this one is the best by far.
    This recipe is excellent. I make my own sweet rice wine (1/2 cup raw sugar + 1/2 sake wine So much better and no hight fructose corn syrup. :
