Lorraine Pascale Bio

Lorraine Pascale, judge on Holiday Baking Championship and Spring Baking Championship

A highly successful fashion model in the '90s, Lorraine Pascale fronted campaigns for brands including Versace, Donna Karan, Katharine Hamnett and The Gap. The first British black model on the cover of American Elle, she also worked regularly with Kate Moss, Christy Turlington, Naomi Campbell and influential fashion editor Edward Enninful for i-D magazine.

But at the start of 2000, Lorraine left her successful modeling career. She experimented with other careers, including becoming a trained hypnotherapist, an interior designer and a mechanic, before pursuing her long-term passion for cooking. She enrolled in the Leiths Diploma of Food and Wine course, and she learned about every aspect of food. She also worked stages in kitchens including The Square, P├ętrus, The Mandarin Oriental, The Wolseley, Hakkasan and The Hummingbird Bakery.

Currently audiences can find Lorraine on Cooking Channel's Fresh, Fast and Easy, also accompanied by a book of the same name. In the series Lorraine cooks clever recipes, lets viewers in on culinary trade secrets and offers invaluable kitchen shortcuts. Lorraine serves as a mentor on Worst Bakers in America and a judge on Food Network's Holiday Baking Championship and Spring Baking Championship.

Lorraine's Baking Made Easy, her first book released in the United Kingdom, features 100 of her favorite recipes and quickly became a No. 1 best-seller. The accompanying TV series, her first, attracted brilliant reviews and was a massive hit with audiences, peaking at close to 3 million viewers during its six-week run. The series premiered on Cooking Channel as Simply Baking.

Home Cooking Made Easy, Lorraine's second book, was accompanied by another BBC series of the same name. Once again Lorraine showcased her informed and practical advice, with a light touch that belies her rigorous professional training.

Other books include A Lighter Way to Bake. In addition to her TV series and books, Lorraine recently made a documentary, Fostering & Me, in which she looked at her own experience of being fostered as a child and the experiences of foster children.
