This was my first go at mulled wine and I enjoyed it. I read the reviews and cut do thrwn the honey to 1/2 cup, as I don't like really sweet wine. I almost could cut it down more or leave it out altogether. I felt like all those spices gave it a sweet tone all it's own. Peppercorns gave it a good heat in the back of the throat. I did also just put it on low on the crock pot. No way was I putting honey through my percolator.....

I made this mulled wine last year for a few Christmas parties and it was an absolute hit! Super delicious and could not have been easier to make.

Now that it is fall once again, I look forward to making it for a big party this weekend! Really wonderful recipe.

I make mulled wine every year with the usual, boring nutmeg, cloves, etc....I decided to try this unique recipe. I was VERY skeptical about the anise and peppercorn, and the lack of cloves. But WOW, this recipe is the BEST mulled wine I have ever made!! It tastes amazing!! I used 2/3 cup of honey instead of 3/4, though, because I don't like very sweet mulled wine. It was HUGE hit at our Christmas Eve party.
