Ingredients
- 2 cups chocolate gelato or ice cream
- 16 store-bought sponge ladyfingers
- 1/2 cup nutella
- 10 strawberries, hulled and thinly sliced
- 32 fresh mint leaves
Directions
Using a melon baller, scoop the gelato into 48 (1-inch) balls. Transfer the balls of gelato to a small tray and keep the gelato in the freezer until ready to serve.
When ready to serve, cut the ladyfingers in half lengthwise. Spread the nutella on both sides of the split ladyfingers. Place 3 scoops of gelato on the bottom half of the ladyfinger. Top with slices of strawberry and mint leaves. Place the top ladyfinger over to make a sandwich. Repeat with remaining ingredients. Serve immediately.

The flavors together are on point and great, BUT it was impossible to cut the lady fingers without them becoming crumbs. I could not get an even cut:( I went through a pack of 12 cookies just to make 3. Although very messy it was delicious,.

First and foremost, I would like to say the flavors were on point! The chocolate, hazelnut combo is great! Its rich and fabulous! The strawberries and mint cut into the richness and add such a crisp and refreshing note! However, my problems were not with the recipe itself, but with finding the ingredients. Finding the right Gelato and cookies were a pain! I eventually found a chocolate and hazelnut Gelato (which was great!, but the cookies were another story. I eventually had to make a compromise, and settle for Milano cookies. It was a hassle because these cookies are already fused together by chocolate. They would not come apart until I microwaved them for a few seconds. Other than that, all was fine.
