Ingredients

  • 6 ounces semisweet chocolate, chopped
  • 3 ounces white chocolate, chopped
  • 1 pound strawberries with stems (about 20), washed and dried very well

Directions

Put the semisweet and white chocolates into 2 separate heatproof medium bowls. Fill 2 medium saucepans with a couple inches of water and bring to a simmer over medium heat. Turn off the heat; set the bowls of chocolate over the water to melt. Stir until smooth. (Alternatively, melt the chocolates in a microwave at half power, for 1 minute, stir and then heat for another minute or until melted.)

Once the chocolates are melted and smooth, remove from the heat. Line a sheet pan with parchment or waxed paper. Holding the strawberry by the stem, dip the fruit into the dark chocolate, lift and twist slightly, letting any excess chocolate fall back into the bowl. Set strawberries on the parchment paper. Repeat with the rest of the strawberries. Dip a fork in the white chocolate and drizzle the white chocolate over the dipped strawberries.

Set the strawberries aside until the chocolate sets, about 30 minutes.

    Excellent

I would make these again....Just a tip though. I don't have a double boiler. Next time I am going to use a smaller pot with... a smaller bowl so the chocolate when it melts is a little deeper in the bowl. I had to swirl the strawberries around a bit instead of dipping. I also kept the heat on the chocolate very very low and dipped the strawberries at the stove. They were fun to make for Valentine's Day. I made a box for my parents who celebrated their 57th anniversary!Read more

    Wonderful!

My husband and I made these to add a bit of romance to our Valentine's Day dinner we shared at home with the kids--heart... shaped pizzas. They were so easy and yummy, even though the strawberries I picked up were way out of season. I can't complain seeing as how it's still snowy in the Midwest in February so I expected as much. I can't wait to make these again in the summer when the fruit is juicy and sweet! We did dip a couple banana slices, also, and they were amazing as well. I suggest using less white chocolate, maybe only 2 ounces, because we had plenty left over. And use a spoon for drizzling, it's much easier!Read more

    Awesome but...

I could suggest a few adjustments. First, I used a Lindt chocolate candy bar (not the ball things you find usually). The bar... was perfect and set very well. I had extra chocolate left over so I decided to practice the drizzle technique with the fork. I found this very difficult and challenging so I switched to a small spoon and found I had an easier time and more control using the spoon. For the white chocolate I used the Lindt ball things. When they melted they had the consistency of milk and did not drizzle very well. I would recommend the chips you find in the baking aisle instead of candy you find in the candy aisle. Read more

    Easy and Delicious!

Rated: 5 stars out of 5
These are super easy to make and very crowd pleasing. You do need to work quickly, so the chocolate does not set before you... get the strawberries covered. It's easier to melt the semi sweet chocolate and cover the berries with that first and set aside. After that, melt the white chocolate using a separate bowl but the same pot, and go back over the berries with the fork technique. These look very elegant and take a minimal amount of time and money to make.Read more

    EXCELLENT

This recipe is delicious! i have found that if you add a little bit of oil to the chocolate, the chocolate will be able to be... used on more strawberries. Overall this recipe is fantastic and turns out very elegant.Read more
