Ingredients

  • 6 apples, McIntosh preferred
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon, optional

Directions

Peel and core apples and cut into quarters. Place them in an enamel sauce pan with the water and lemon juice then bring to a boil then turn the heat down slightly and simmer 30 minutes to break them down and get them to thicken. Take off the heat and stir in the sugar and cinnamon, if using.

    Needed Some Adjustments.

Rated: 4 stars out of 5
I followed the recipe exactly, but then ended up having to add more sugar and a little bit more cinnamon. I added brown... sugar and cinnamon sticks, and it turned out well. Just be sure to taste it to make sure the proportions are good, and it'll turn out well. Very good on a cold winter day.Read more
