Just made this again last night for dinner and it was delicious. I have no idea how anyone could possibly say it was bland. I used regular shredded mozzarella instead of smoked and we preferred it that way. Made it once before with smoked and the family didn't care for it.

This dish was delicious! I didn't care for the smoked cheese, so i used shredded mozarella/provolone instead. One of my children is extremely picky and hates "the green stuff" which is herbs, but he ate 2 helpings! This is the first time i've had marscapone, I live in the country and not many places has it. I plan on adding it to anything i possibly can, it's divine! Thanks Giada, I love all your recipes and you've really inspired me to start cooking!!!

I've had this recipe saved for a really long time, but had never made it...I highly recommend it! The results will, of course, depend on the quality of the ingredients that you use, but because we're trying to do vegetarian dishes for dinner more often than not every week, it was worth a try and it's so delish! I used smoked provolone slices instead of mozzarella, but the result was equally yummy! Will definitely make again!
