Ingredients

  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 tablespoon unflavored powdered gelatin
  • 3 cups whipping cream
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • Pinch salt
  • 2 cups assorted fresh berries

Directions

Place the milk in a small bowl. Sprinkle the gelatin over. Let stand for 3 to 5 minutes to soften the gelatin. Pour milk mixture into a heavy saucepan and stir over medium heat just until the gelatin dissolves but the milk does not boil, about 5 minutes. Add the cream, honey, sugar, and salt. Stir until the sugar dissolves, 5 to 7 minutes. Remove from the heat. Pour into 6 wine glasses so that they are 1/2 full. Cool slightly. Refrigerate until set, at least 6 hours.

Spoon the berries atop the panna cotta and serve.

    Honey killed the panna cotta

Rated: 3 stars out of 5
I live in a very Italian neighborhood in Brooklyn and order the panna cotta every time I go to the local pizzeria. I love it... so much that I wanted to make it for my friends for our New Years Eve party. So naturally, I went straight to Giada for the recipe but am sad to report that the honey overpowered the soft creaminess of the panna cotta. It was a disappointment for me. The panna cotta at my local pizzeria is ten times better. Nonetheless, was very easy to make and if you like honey then go for it. Still love Giada! Read more

Rated: 3 stars out of 5
I tried this recipe 4 years ago for Christmas.I was soooo excited after trying it at a local restaurant that I wanted my... entire family to try it. It didnt go over well. Although I followed the recipe to a T, it never set. I kept it over night and it still didnt set. Sadly, I threw it all away. Before i did, I tried it..... it tasted AMAZING! This year, I want to try again! I dying to get that yummy honey flavor. This time I will use 2 packets of gelitine! YUM YUM!Read more

Honey with Panna Cotta and Fresh Berries

Rated: 2 stars out of 5
WAY too heavy on the honey. It's the only thing I could taste. This wouldn't be a bad recipe if the honey were replaced with... 5 tbsp of sugar. I had to throw this batch out. It was barely palatable.Read more

    Too much Honey

Rated: 4 stars out of 5
i think it was a good recipe...really easy dessert, but it had a strong honey flavor for me...i don't know if it was the type... of honey i used. All in all a great recipe next time i'll flavor it with espresso powder instead of honey and just add a bit more sugar!Read more
